Well I never. Where did 2007 go?
It is once again a New Year and with it more floods and trauma to those in the path of the fast flowing water.
One of the strangest things I saw was a bright blue, pot bellied barbeque. It's spindly legs standing two thirds deep in swirling water. The image made all the more bizarre by it nestling against a tree, the wide trunk appearing to curve around the body. Another foot of water probably saw it float away downstream.
Herbal Workshops will start again at the beginning of April. This gives the Hawthorn leaves a little more time to unfurl and more herbs to identify. There are already signs of life in the world of flora , buds swelling and flowers bursting open. The snowdrops are already nodding and one or two daffodils have been open for a couple of weeks, cheering us on our way round the village. The bright blue flowers of Vinca hiding in the gaps of a stone wall. Fantastic! Makes the heart want to sing and the feet dance!
This weekend is 'Bird Watch' so get out there and spot some birds. Check those who are helping you keep the slugs and snails at bay!
